“Young in business” – Business simulation competition for high school students

The Globalworth Foundation promotes entrepreneurship and inspires young people for future activities in the labor market. The foundation organized  “Young in Business” virtual company simulation competition for high school students from Silesian schools. Its goal is to promote modern solutions in business and management education , popularize knowledge of economics, entrepreneurship and develop among students the competencies necessary to build a company’s competitive edge.

Over 150 high school students from Katowice and the region took on the role of managers of virtual company. As part of the game, the young people tackled, among other things, aspects related to setting up their own company, hiring employees, preparing a sales offer and marketing activities.

The finals of the “Young in Business” competition took place at the Supersam in Katowice. In addition to the experience and a great opportunity to develop their managerial skills, the finalists received cash prizes.

The formation of an entrepreneurial attitude is of great importance in the development and education of young people. Providing young people with the knowledge of setting up and running a virtual company increases their qualifications and preparation for future functioning in the labor market. By organizing the “Young in Business” competition, we want to give students the opportunity to recognize their predispositions, and plan their educational and professional path.” says Tomasz Jelinowski, board member of the Globalworth Foundation.
