RetuRO joins the Globalworth community in Campus A

Globalworth, the leading office investor in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and the leader of the Romanian office market, is announcing a new multi-year lease agreement. RetuRO Sistem Garanție Returnare (RetuRo), a company founded by beverage producers and trade associations to manage the deposit-return system, will expand its operations in Globalworth Campus A.

RetuRO is the largest packaging collection and recycling project in the country. The company was formed as a company managed in a dualistic system, which is based on the not-for-profit principle, which means that, through the constitutive act, it assumed the obligation to reinvest any profit exclusively in the development of the system. The Romanian state through the Ministry of Environment has also joined the company as a shareholder.

RetuRO’s mission is to implement Romania’s largest circular economy project – the deposit-return system. Through the execution of this project, we will be able to achieve a more sustainable and eco-friendlier environment while meeting the collection and recycling targets set by the European Union’s new circular economy package. The deposit-return system will boost the recycling market in Romania, offering significant quantities and quality of raw materials.

Globalworth Campus, the largest A-class business park in Romania, is a very ambitious project that aims to create a balanced ecosystem for our community. We are pleased to host RetuRO in our prime location, where both indoor and outdoor environments can foster innovation and development. We would like to thank RetuRO for putting their trust in us, as the place where their business will grow, said Ramona Dirlea, Corporate Account Manager at Globalworth Romania.

By locating our headquarter to Globalworth Campus, a space that prioritizes sustainability, we are taking a big step forward in our commitment to implement Romania’s largest circular economy project (DRS – the deposit return system). This move aligns with our values and mission to create a positive impact, not just through our investments, but also in the way we operate as a business, said Catalina Marga, CFO and Member of the Directorate at RetuRo.

The Globalworth Campus complex is a significant office project within the Globalworth portfolio and provides tenants with spaces focused on sustainability and avant-garde design, encouraging innovation, relaxation, and creativity. The project encompasses the highest energy efficiency standards: it is currently BREEAM Excellent certified. The building obtained the WELL Health-Safety Rating that further demonstrates that the company’s assets provide safe and healthy places for corporates to operate and for people to visit and work in. Globalworth received 47 ESG-related certifications for its Romanian portfolio last year, demonstrating its commitment to providing high-quality and environmentally friendly spaces to its partners and stakeholders.

A state-of-the-art development, balancing office, retail, and other supporting amenities, Globalworth Campus is delivering the very best of office experience. It includes three A-class office buildings housing extensive office spaces, a conference center that can accommodate over 1,200 people, retail outlets, and various other facilities spanning a rentable area of over 92,000 sqm.
