Pedet Renoma – Wrocław gains a unique gastronomy concept

In the autumn of this year,  Globalworth – the owner and manager of Renoma – invites you to  Pedet – the new food and cultural space inspired by the concept of a food hall. It will combine the unique atmosphere of this historic space with unique food concepts as well as with the company’s professional knowledge of and experience in running mixed-use projects. Pedet is a space that is designed with attention to detail, where you will be guaranteed an exceptional culinary journey and unforgettable artistic and cultural experience.

In Pedet Renoma’s history is combined with a new approach to the latest trends in retail and food. It is to be a space inspired by what is best in the food halls that are so fashionable and popular now, of which Globalworth has many years experience as an owner and manager of Hala Koszyki in Warsaw. With seating for 240 people, Pedet will be the ideal place for lunches, business meetings, evening meals with friends and evening entertainment in an artistic atmosphere.

It is to stand out with its cyclical cultural events in the evenings that include shows and recitals as well as exhibitions and concerts. Some of these will draw their character from the atmosphere of the place, which comes from the history of Renoma. The timeless design will interweave with the modernist elements of this Wrocław icon that hark back to the building’s original pre-war art deco style.

As a result of the efforts to transform Renoma, two restaurant areas are to be created where exceptional food is to be served, with one on the Plac Kościuszki side and the other on the side facing Plac Czysty, both with outdoor restaurant gardens. Renoma’s customers and its office workers will gain a unique food hall, where original restaurant concepts will be presented both by local restaurateurs and by those who have run popular concepts in other Polish cities.

Pedet is to be divided into zones where seven unique food concepts may be found. It will be a superb journey to the far corners of the earth and also a superb opportunity to try regional specialities in surprising forms.  All this will be due to Wrocław’s culinary formats and its new gastronomy. Bar Pedet will be at the centre of this unrepeatable space with a stage where events are to be held such as live music concerts, a space for a DJ as well as concerts and artistic cultural events. For those seeking out new experiences in taste and art, Pedet will hit the bullseye being a place that could be called the entertainment centre of Renoma.

“Renoma has a unique and inspiring history, so we have taken every effort to return it to its glory while expanding the range of services offered so that it meets the expectations of both the people of Wrocław and the tenants of our offices. We are going to create a space that will ensure our guests a culinary journey through the cuisines of the world and will provide them with an exciting cultural and artistic experience. For the interior arrangement, we have made use of the connections to the modernist epoch and this place is to be characterised by a decor that forms a new interpretation of  Renoma’s art deco style and elegance combined. Everyone who comes to visit is sure to have their attention drawn to Pedet’s neon logo which refers back to Renoma’s previous name – Powszechny Dom Towarowy,”  says Weronika Maria Kuna, the Asset Management and Leasing Manager at Globalworth Poland.

As you might have guessed, the name Pedet, communicates to the people of Wrocław by referring back to the many years when the centre was named Powszechny Dom Towarowy, which was for many decades in post-war Wrocław a symbol of big city trade long before the advent of malls in Poland. In combination with the transformation of Renoma, this has led to a lot of interest from restaurants bars and cafes. Advanced negotiations are underway for the rental of this space and we will inform you shortly of their finalisation and the exact tenants involved.

“The Pedet food hall in Renoma is a concept that has been thoroughly thought through and developed in line with current market trends. We are not just talking about the interior design but also about how it functions and about the needs of the customer. This place without a doubt stands out not only because of its unique range of restaurants and its events but also because it opens out onto  Plac Czysty, where a new area with outdoor gardens is to be created,” comments Paweł Konarski, the Portfolio Gastronomy & Entertainment Manager at Globalworth Poland.

Renoma regains its former glory

At the end of March, the first space within the reconstructed section of Renoma was handed over. This included the northern atrium as well as the area around the entrance on ul. Świdnicka. The layout that was originally there of two identical courtyards has been recreated. Both atriums are decorated with white and grey marble from Portugal and Turkey as well as with the famous gold-plated heads modelled on those found on the facade and a huge chandelier reminiscent of the original pre-war art deco design. The design for the reconstruction was by renowned Wrocław architect Zbigniew Maćków and his studio.

After the transformation, the completion of which is planned for the second quarter of 2023, Renoma is to include almost 35,000 sqm of modern office space. Electric vehicle charging stations will be available to future tenants as well as electric scooters that will also be available to customers and guests. Additionally, there will be extensive cycling facilities, including locker rooms, showers and stands and also a car-sharing service. Tenants will receive a dedicated Globalworth mobile app, with which workers will have touchless entry to their offices. They will also be able to call lifts with their mobiles, raise the barrier to the car park and book conference rooms or parking spaces. The Renoma centre is also environmentally friendly and has been awarded BREEAM certification with a rating level of Excellent since it is 100% powered by green energy. It has also been awarded WELL Health & Safety 2022 certification.
