The Globalworth Foundation gathered and supported 700 children from 14 community centres and foster homes at the sixth edition of the Globalworth Christmas Charity Days event, which is held in the first two weeks of December.
Between the 2nd and 10th of December, a charity corner was set up in Globalworth Tower’s new smart lobby to host the “The gift that keeps on giving shop” fundraising campaign. Empty boxes were left in this corner to be tagged with the special wishes of children who don’t receive gifts at Christmas. Tenants, colleagues and partners of Globalworth took away the boxes to fill them with the gift each child dreamed of. Toy cars, unicorns, teddy bears and sweets filled the lobby of the building under the careful guidance of Santa’s helper, Pepper, Globalworth’s first robot employee. Between December 11th and 13th, the Christmas gifts were given to the 700 children at special events held for the little ones, such as workshops, surprise concerts and dance performances.
“Globalworth Christmas Charity Days is a gift for us all, an event we look forward to at the end of each year. It is our best chance to offer joy and receive smiles in return, to see with our own eyes how easy it is to help children for whom Christmas is not necessarily a period of joy. We thank all the partners, colleagues, tenants and anonymous donors who helped make this magic happen!” said Georgiana Iliescu, Executive Director, Globalworth Foundation.
“I was very happy to see Santa, especially since he was the real one.” (Denisa, 8 years old).
“I liked Gașca Zurli the most. And I liked that I made friends, I played and I received a great gift that I will share with my brother.” (David, 7 years old).
Through the six editions of the Globalworth Christmas Charity Days event, the Globalworth Foundation has distributed 5,600 gifts to children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
