Donate and solve a problem

A Globalworth Foundation fundraising campaign to support access to education for children with special problems

The fundraising campaign runs simultaneously, from 2nd to 10th of October, in all the Globalworth buildings

 Bucharest, September 2, 2019

Today is the first day when donnations can be made for the fundraising campaign "Donate and solve a problem", by  the Globalworth Foundation. The campaign runs from the 2nd to the 10th of October and the funds will be donated to the beneficiaries of the program "Nesting a brighter future for children", developed in partnership with the United Way Romania Foundation.

The Globalworth Foundation's campaign completes the 1 million euros donation made at the end of 2018 and it is the first from a larger number of other initiatives developed for supporting 3,500 children and 2,800 parents by 2021.

"Donate and solve a problem" is a simple call to action at the beginning of the school year: just like in front of a math problem when we, as adults, are able to look for solutions, we can mobilize, methodically and patiently, to carry out a series of actions that will lead to solving the access of children to education.

The program financed by the Globalworth Foundation supports increased access to education for children from disadvantaged families. All the actions are built around the needs of children, but at the same time, they support the responsibility of parents and teachers for the good development of the little ones. In this way, the chances of breaking the barriers imposed by poverty and achieving a positive impact in the community increase.

“The children from the programs we are financing are the future of this country. We all dearly remember the first day of school and I am convinced that all children in Romania deserve to have equal opportunities in education. We chose to join the efforts of the United Way Romania Foundation, because we cannot remain indifferent to statistics showing that 41.7% of the children in Romania are at risk of poverty and social exclusion ”, stated Georgiana Iliescu, Executive Director of Globalworth Foundation

The project "Education, the center of community change" is financed by the Globalworth Foundation and is carried out in 12 disadvantaged communities in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara and neighboring rural areas. Implemented over a 3-years period, the main objective of the program is to support 12 community centers that will function as hubs, with the role of strengthening the place of education in community development.

Those wishing to get involved in the campaign can make donations as money or supplies, in dedicated spaces within Globalworth buildings or, until October 10th.

 About the Globalworth Foundation

The Globalworth Foundation was established in 2018 by Globalworth, the leader of the office building market in Romania and Poland, and is a non-profit entity, being independent of the group's commercial activities. The Foundation's mission is to develop projects on three main pillars: people, places and technology.

Starting from the idea that the future of any society is represented by the younger generations, the foundation focuses on caring for people, which can be supported through education programs and projects that can improve their access to quality medical services, regardless of the social category in that are part of. Equally important are the initiatives aimed at building places and developing urban communities in which people can meet, interact and find solutions that help those with special needs. In addition, the Globalworth Foundation believes in the positive impact of technology-integrated projects, such as incubators for young people, and supports the financing of innovations that can bring people together.
