The high-tech Globalworth Square structural frame is completed

The Globalworth portfolio in Romania is expanding with a new office of the future:

  • the first energy-producing building in the portfolio
  • one of the most technological office spaces in the country
  • additional hygiene measures adopted
  • although a hub based on smart efficiency technology, its façade will be pencilled with vintage accents

June 2020 is marked by an important milestone for the Globalworth portfolio: we have just completed the Globalworth Square structural frame!

“This is a very ambitious project of ours, a construction based on smart efficiency technology. Consolidating the Globalworth leading portfolio, our teams are looking forward to leasing space in the first energy-producing building among our assets - an important part of the energy consumption will be provided by the photovoltaic roof. We will share with you the construction stages, but the leasing process is open: Globalworth Square is waiting for its future tenants!” said Ema Iftimie, Head of Leasing at Globalworth, Romania.

Located in the north part of Bucharest, in the largest business community in Romania, the high-tech building will be a place where technological additions perfectly combine with the sustainability. Specifically, Globalworth Square will use a geothermal system under the slab foundation, capable of considerably reducing the cooling and heating costs of the entire edifice. On top of this, a sophisticated ICE storage system implemented for the first time in Romania will be used for the cooling needs providing further energy savings and flattering the consumption curve during the day. Last but not least, energy consumption will be further supported by the photovoltaic roof.

Technology is part of the Globalworth’ s DNA, and as a result, designed as a business hub focused on innovation and efficiency, Globalworth Square will be one of the most technological office spaces in Romania. The asset comes as an expected evolution given that at the end of 2019, Globalworth inaugurated the biggest kinetic floor in an office building worldwide – due to this fact, the Globalworth Tower building has become a benchmark for office space innovation and sustainability.

Together with technology and comfort comes hygiene. Touchless technology has been adopted in all restrooms through IR devices while access to the building and office spaces will be available through Blue-tooth and NFC technologies. On top of this, maximum air quality in the building will be achieved as the air handling units will be equipped with both in-built humidification and innovative air disinfection ensuring germ free fresh air introduction at the optimum humidity.

The target is to obtain the first BREEAM OUTSTANDING green accreditation. Although it will be a hub based on smart efficiency technology, Globalworth Square will come with a contrasting and yet architecturally complementary look, the façade will be pencilled with vintage accents.

Features:

The structure has three basement levels, ground floor, 15 floors and the last floor being partially technical floor.
