The Globalworth Foundation and Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation join forces to support the artistic future of Romania

Bucharest, December 2, 2019: The Globalworth Foundation, in partnership with the Margarita of Romania Royal Foundation, launches a new edition of the Young Talents program, in which 30 young people will be supported to reach their artistic potential through development scholarships, mentoring programs and opportunities for promotion at national and international level.

Young Talents is a national program designed to support and promote young artists from modest families who are in need financial support to get their talent to the next level. Awarded "Best Art and Culture Program" at the "Gala Societății Civile” (Civil Society Gala) in 2013 and 2015, the program granted over 300 scholarships annually along its 11 editions. The young scholars are students in the middle schools, high schools and universities of music and arts from all over the country, aged between 14 and 24 years, thus supplementing their academic preparation with extracurricular activities, attending international festivals and competitions that would have otherwise weighed down on their families’ budgets, and meet personalities from the cultural world who offer them the opportunity to exhibit their work.

"The Globalworth Foundation is committed to helping the community grow in three directions: people, places and technology, and Young Talents is the perfect example for the first - a program that helps talented young people grow. We are surrounded by culture every day, and this year our business community has become Globalworth District, the first art & tech district in Romania, so we see an impulse in our contribution to Young Talents, meant to bring oxygen to the Romanian cultural community.” - Georgiana Iliescu, Executive Director at Globalworth Foundation.

"Every year, Romania loses talented young people who due to financial shortages cannot continue their artistic development. Musicians and visual artists, endowed with the ability to make beautiful creations, abandon their artistic career in order to be able to support themselves and help their families. Margarita of Romania Royal Foundation steps in and gives these young people essential support, so that they can continue their study and become known through their art. It is an important investment and we are pleased that the Globalworth Foundation recognizes the value of this program and supports the artistic future of Romania. ” – Mugurel Margarit, Executive Director, Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation

In 2020, the Young Talents program will support 30 young people in their artistic endeavour, by:

  • Scholarships for artistic development of up to 2,000 euros - covering costs for materials and instruments, participation in competitions, concerts, exhibitions and specialized courses (the number of scholars can reach 30 depending on the attracted funding)
  • Mentoring and Masterclasses - offers scholars the opportunity to learn and connect with established artists in their field, through monthly discussion sessions and workshops;
  • Promotion of scholars and the Young Talents program - through a plan of events organized by Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation or in collaboration with the partners and sponsors of the project.

For many talented young people, the program was an essential step in their evolution, a leap towards a performance that would have been almost impossible to achieve without this support. This is the reason why the Globalworth Foundation offers financing to the Young Talents project, in amount of 50,000 euros for 2020.

About the Globalworth Foundation

The Globalworth Foundation was established in 2018 by Globalworth, the leader of the office building market in Romania and Poland, and is a non-profit entity, independent of the group's commercial activities. The Foundation's mission is to develop projects on three main pillars: people, places and technology. Starting from the idea that the future of any society is represented by the younger generations, the foundation focuses on caring for people, which can be supported through education programs and projects that can improve their access to quality medical services, regardless of the social category they are part of. Equally important are the initiatives that aim at building places and developing urban communities in which people can meet, interact and find solutions together that help those with special needs. In addition, the Globalworth Foundation believes in the positive impact of technology-integrated projects, such as incubators for young people, and supports the financing of innovations that bring people together.
